What is Art Therapy?
Art Therapy combines artmaking and talk therapy to help gain insight into thoughts and emotions. The process of artmaking and discussion with an Art Therapist can help manage anxiety and depression, cope with stress, process trauma and improve mental health.
What can I expect during a typical session?
A typical session may include making artwork, talking about the process and learning to apply new insights. Some sessions focus primarily on talking with the therapist, others will focus on mindfulness and meditation. Sessions are customized around the needs of the client.
Do I need experience making artwork?
You do not need any expereince making art to participate in art therapy. The focus is on the process, not the product.
Do you offer free consultations?
A free 15 minute consultation is provided ahead of the first session.
